On June 25th 2010, Lantmännen Unibake Denmark will close the bakery in Glostrup, Denmark and move the production of hamburger buns to Germany and Finland.
The world price on hamburger buns is under heavy pressure, which makes it even more important to produce at a competitive cost. Unfortunately, the outdated condition and structure of the bakery in Glostrup does not allow us to do so. This - combined with a wish to produce hamburger buns on fewer bakeries - means that the bakery in Glostrup will be closed.
The Glostrup bakery is one of the oldest bakeries in Lantmännen Unibake. Its story goes back to 1951, where Dagny and Julius Paaskesen opened a small bakery in Copenhagen, Denmark before moving to Glostrup in 1968.
The last day of production in Glostrup will be June 25th 2010.
